I have a Dell Inspiron 3891. A lot of the newer PC's are starting to not include CD drives so I went ahead and ordered a Blu-Ray drive for my PC. It was very easy to install and the system picked up on the drive immediately after powering on.I did run into a situation. It could be from the windows aspect, or just that the CD drive was different, but I ran into an issue when installing a game through the CD-ROM drive to where it said "An administrator has blocked you from using this app". Luckily, I was able to YouTube how to fix the error and it worked like a charm!I would highly recommend this drive and will post pictures later! If you run into the same issue I have, YouTube how to fix it and it will give you a step by step guide!Fits perfectly in an HP OMEN 880 desktop PC.......Much quieter than the one it replaced of similar part number.A bit slower than my external Buffalo BD-R burner that runs at 12X.I have only burned 1 Verbatim 16x BD-R disc but it did it quietly and did not get hot like some burner drives do.I use brown packaging tape.. Otherwise you'd have to take the computer bottom off to get it out . Alas after a recent Windows 10 update computer hangs if I put it in and won't recognize the device if I put it in the bay after it turns on. I assume it is power hungry which my laptop alas won't handle. The PSU on mine I should have asked. going from 130 watt to a 45 watt psu ouch. So I use a 60 watt Powered USB hub. That works better but not perfect so I have a USB 3.0 to Sata connector then a simple wire converter to put it to mini sata for laptop disc drives. and it works there. I've yet to get any 4K discs to be recognized on this. It's also a Panasonic drive which the only way to update the drive is via a Sony Vaio which this is supposed to be in apparently. :( Won't do it any other way.. I don't know about the 100 gb discs yet. Those aren't cheap. Not sure I wanna risk paying that much unless I know it works.I got lucky.... this fit perfectly... not knowing there are 9mm, 9.5mm and 12.7 mm thick 'slim' drives. Be sure of your old drives thickness. I recommend calipers for a true reading. This reads and burns CD, DVD-r and BluRay-R. Very happy with purchase. Two cables to plug in (SATA and Power).... couldn't be easier. His dvd quit working and it needs something to install programs and Windows OS. Factory restore is not existent when the drive was replaced. Now he can bur Blu-rays and watch Blu-rays. I had to make a spacer to keep it from going too far into his computer which is a Dell All-in-one. It is not a good fit, but it works.I bought this to upgrade the standard DVD-RW that came with my new Dell 8930. Figuring out Dell uninstall was probably the hardest part of the effort other than the front cover swap. I was really concerned about breaking something, but eventually got the cover off that came on the new drive and put the shiny unmarked Dell original on it.I was replacing the optical drive in a HP Zbook G2 that accepts a UJ-272 . The drive would not clear the bay into which it was to be installed; detailed measurements showed that it was roughly 0.3 mm too "thick". From another vendor, I purchased what was ostensibly the same drive after requesting a refund through Amazon. The second drive fit and functioned. I have attached an image of the two drives, side by side. Unlike the image on the Amazon sales site that I have attached here as well that shows a clear bar code label, the actual drive that arrived did not have any such label. Note that the drive that did fit and function in the first image of the two side by side, has a bar code as well as a QC PASSED label and an "orange" anti-tampering sticker. In terms of weight, the drive that did work weighed much less (by approximately 50 percent) than the one from this Amazon seller that did not fit. I suspect that the drive I received, based on a direct comparison with a genuine Panasonic UJ-272, is an unauthorized copy from another source, possibly in the PRC.I wanted a Blu-Ray for my Dell Precision T5810 to burn large amounts of data to discs. It was recognized by Win10 on installation and I was able to burn a Verbatim BD-R DL (50GB capacity) with no problems, using the Microsoft disc burning utility in windows 10. The discs were VBR260YP50V1.
