My old keyboard and mouse were many, many years old. The letters were worn off of a third of the keys. This was a great purchase. I like the ergonomics of both the keyboard and the house. The mouse is a bit more contoured than my old one and it makes all the difference in the world. It was a great purchase for me!The MK520 has been basically flawless. I have one for my PC, and another for my flight simulator.wirelessThis is a replacement after many years. Original lasted foreverPerfect pair for home office set up. Good price and easy to set upPerfect Set for work needs and home.If you are looking for a no frills, but quality wireless solution, you really can't go wrong with this combo.PROSInexpensive full size keyboard and wireless mouse combinationUnifying receiverCONSMouse could be betterUNIFYING RECEIVERIf you've never had a wireless setup before, Logitech's Unifying receivers are tiny, work well, and some products offer a wired USB "extender" to plug the receiver into and then wire to your computer. It's handy if you want to use front access ports for other devices and not waste one for this receiver. It also allows you to move the receiver somewhat if you happen to get interference from something else. This combo included one of those extenders. The receivers are easy to setup and pair to any Logitech Unifying device.NO FRILLS KEYBOARDI've had a lot of keyboards over the years, and a lot of wireless solutions. My needs are simple in a keyboard. I found I simply never used keyboards with a million extra buttons on them. There are a few on this keyboard, but you won't launch a nuclear holocaust sequence with them. I'm not a gamer, so I had no consideration for that either.NICE FEELThe keys have a very low "action" to them and typing is very smooth. I find the texture of the keys on the other hand are not perfectly smooth. Sounds weird, but if you felt them you would understand and it seems to help set your fingers into the keys.I DO NOT type correctly. I started typing at the age of 6 (no big deal today, but this was the 70s) because my dad was a geek and we had a vacuum tubed mini computer in the house. I had no training, tutorials, nothing. You'd laugh if you saw me type and wonder how I type as fast as I do. So, I can't use any keyboard that's "split" for typists. I can't handle funky shapes to them. Just basic keyboards. I used to always prefer nice mechanical switches in the keys, with a real positive feel and some force with feedback. I am considering replacing the other keyboards that I have now with this, if I could find it available without the mouse.THINPhysically, the keyboard is quite thin. If you are accustomed to always having some form of keyboard support in front of your keyboard, this keyboard may drop below your support and not be flush. I personally hate the supports, so this is not an issue for me. There is enough of a "rest" with this keyboard that I feel it totally suffices and other inexpensive keyboards do not provide that spacing. They just drop off into your desk below the space bar.MOUSEThe included mouse isn't great. I have several Logitech Performance Mouse MX units that I use for desktops, and several other of their models for my young son's laptop as well as units I use with laptop tables in the bedroom and other places. Obviously, this throw in can't compare in any way to an MX model, especially for the price, but I think they could have included a better wheel and middle button support type mouse with this combo. Logitech's other inexpensive mice are much better than this one in my opinion. I'm knocking a star off for it.RECOMMENDEDI simply can't find anything wrong with the combo. I honestly just wanted the keyboard. I was replacing a model they discontinued and wasn't looking for a combo. If you need a good wireless keyboard with a mouse, you can't go wrong here and I highly recommend it.Goodhave to say a bit disappointed with this keyboard and it's being sent back. firstly, it weighs a ton!! I mean seriously heavy for a wireless keyboard. also, it's not quiet to type on, not even close. how anyone can think this is whisper quiet is beyond me. I'm using the old k270 to write this and it's feather light and positively silent compared to the k520. I'm a big Logitech fan, and this is the first of their keyboards I've ever had that I'm returning.I bought this as a step up from my K270 to be able to connect my kit between 2 computers quickly and easily along with an MX Master Mouse (I didn't bother with the mouse that came in this bundle so cannot comment on that - although I will say it is a full sized mouse and looks OK).Put simply, the MK520 keyboard looks good in the pictures but just looks and feels awful in reality. There's some transparent plastic that surrounds it that just feels tatty, flimsy and pointless - not the end of the world. However the finish and keys are awful; it has a sort of coarse matt finish that just looks cheap, and the keys are slightly oversized which means that you catch the keys adjacent to the keys you're striking if typing quickly, rather than having a decent gap between them.Sorry Logitech, I like your kit but this one is a fail, after 5 minutes I boxed it up and it's going back - and I have very gladly re-instated my basic K270 which even though it doesn't do all the smartypants connecting, it has never missed a beat, it's compact but has everything you need and the keys feel nice. More expensive is not always better!Had issues with this keyboard and should of sent it back.a set of keys are hard to get to work and the receivers have failed, I gave up with it and bought another.Overall its should be a good keyboard but mine is just no use.I put fall starts for comfort meaning it sits on your lap nice but my fingers went on strike due to faulty keys.Very good keyboard, the 'legs' seem to be much stronger than previous logitech keyboards that were always breaking, I repaired the last one with bulldog clips but eventually even the plastic that holds them broke so had to buy a new one, this one seems so much stronger. I have no used the mouse yet as the old mouse still works but am sure it will be as good as they always are.I quite like Logitech stuff, but we bought this on a colleague's suggestion. They lasted a month before they asked for something better. The mouse is tolerable. The dongle works just fine. But to type on that keyboard is a deeply unpleasant experience. Missed presses, a lack of feel and just generally being poor leads to frustration. We have cheap keyboards around which are perfectly OK to live with, as are many cheap mice. But the mouse has small, low quality sliders, and the keyboard is just miserable.Avoid.
