This lightweight base plate replaces the original base on the X2. The stock base weighs in at 7.7 grams, and the new base is 2.8 grams for a weight reduction of 4.9 grams.  In our testing this brought our X2 Mini to just over 48 grams.

Installation is quite easy with a #1 Phillips screwdriver.  There are only seven screws to remove.  Check out our  for a step by step walkthrough.

In the event that you want to remove the modification it is completely reversible. The original base can simply be reinstalled, and the mouse is back to original.
